Cruising Down The Aisle

Oh how I love cruises, and weddings! Put both of those combined and I'll be happy to be a guest at your upcoming wedding. If you have been torn between a beach wedding, a destination wedding, and where to honeymoon, this may just be a great idea for you.
Cruise weddings caught my attention when my brother proposed to his girlfriend. He actually proposed to her right before our second family cruise while we were all vacationing in Miami! After my future sister-in-law announced she was getting married I could already see the stress of planning a wedding on her face. As a matter of fact she didn't even start planning until New Years, and she got engaged in May! I came across cruise weddings when I was helping her look for wedding themes and I fell in love immediately, however she didn't. For her, her older family members couldn't make it so she planned her wedding to be here in Atlanta. I kept the thought in my mind for my future wedding or whenever I marry Thor, I hope he likes the beach that's all I can say.
Cruises alone are fun for families and couples, a quick get away to exotic places for a low cost sounds good to me. A lot of people get married at the beach, but how many can say they got married in Jamaica then sailed to two or three other exciting places! Plus the planning is minimal and doesn't cause a huge headache, the cruise line plans the wedding with your input. You can plan for a beach wedding at a port you are going to or get married on the ship while sailing to a destination. Now for people who don't or can't afford to sail, there's an option of having your wedding before the ship takes off with actual paying guest, then after the ceremony and reception you and your new spouse can sail away on your honeymoon.

If you want a custom wedding, that's possible too. Your cruise wedding planning can set up custom color themes for your wedding too so it won't feel like someone elses wedding.

These custom features depend on the cruise line you go through, not evey cruise line will have so many options to choose from. The other great thing I like about cruise weddings is the prices of them! Our family has cruised with Carnival twice and each time we have loved it, my parents have even talked about having a vow renewal on the next family cruise. Carnival has great prices for cruising and for a wedding package. You can have a full wedding for under $2,000, plus the cost of tickets for you and your new spouse's honeymoon. That is the only thing I wish they would change, including the price of a honeymoon trip in the payment of the wedding but I guess they have to make money some how right.
Well folks I hope you will take my advice and have a magical cruise wedding, oh and take my other advice and invite me!
